“When shopping for an investment property in the Grass Valley area I was referred to Jamie Barber by a REALTOR ® where I live in San Jose. Although this REALTOR ® had never actually met Jamie, she was impressed by him when working with a previous client just a few months prior while looking for home in Grass Valley.
Jamie listened to my wish list and setup an automated email sending me daily MLS listings of homes that fit my description. After about a week I had made a list of 20 or 30 homes I wanted to see in person. Jamie put together a package for me of each of the properties, listing out all the details of each house and called the listing agents to setup an appointment for a visit. We were able to quickly and efficiently visit all the homes in a short period of time. We graded each house with an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ or ‘No Way’. Jamie took the pressure off by making the house shopping experience fun. After just a few homes, Jamie could see a pattern in the ones I did or didn’t approve of and for what reasons. By the second day of house shopping I found the home I wanted, and not from MLS list either, it was one that Jamie had found and thought that I would like, so he suggested we take a look at it. It felt right just as soon as we drove up and by the time I stepped into the front door I fell in love the place.
Jamie helped me make and offer and walked me through all the steps of the negotiation process, getting me an excellent deal on the house. Since I lived out of town, Jamie was my eyes and ears and setup appointments with each of the inspectors and repair contractors, met them at the house and followed up with me on the phone after each was completed. There wasn’t a day that went by that Jamie didn’t call me, usually several times, to keep me in the loop and updated me on the progress. Jamie made me feel like I was his only client.
I had requested escrow to close in 30 days or less. Because Jamie was so efficient we were able to close exactly 20 days from the day our offer was accepted. As a REALTOR®, Jamie went far above and beyond my expectations. Even after escrow closed Jamie was there for me. Because this purchase was an investment I would need renters. Jamie spread the word to help me advertise and even showed the house to prospective renters for me when I couldn’t be there. Thanks to Jamie, I had renters in the house before the 1st mortgage payment was due!
